Meet Cooper and Riley
Fur babies to Michala, Evan, Matius, and Luca
Riley– AKA- Riley Kins, Riley Smiley, Riley Son, Riwey, etc. Riley is a 100% Beagle. She was a gift from Mrs. McMay’s ex-boyfriend in college who bred Beagles. Mr. McMay has taken her on as his own (unless she’s being bad, then he won’t claim her and refers to her as “Your DOG!”) Riley is a sassafras who isn’t afraid to tell you EXACTLY what she thinks. She is spectacular with kids and is an amazing little hunter. She has caught opossums, birds in mid air, rabbits, kittens (yea…. ). If the clock reaches 5pm and you haven’t fed her yet, she is sure to let you know. Riley generally keeps to herself but also doesn’t like when her human’s have been gone from her for too long. She is sure to let you know if she is unhappy with you.
Cooper– AKA- Coop, Kookie, Shithead (pronounced SHITHEED), Cooper Wooper, Pooper Scooper, etc.
Cooper is a mix between a Rhodesian Ridgeback (50%), Black Lab (25%), and Pit Bull (25%). Most people notice his “mohawk” and think he is agitated and are immediately afraid of him. It’s not him being upset, that’s just how his hair grows! This is a feature of the Ridgeback. This guy is one beast of a dog. He weighs about 85lbs but thinks he is the size of a chihuahua. He loves sun bathing, sitting on the back of the couch like a cat, and generally just being in everyone’s business. He likes to steal food off Matius’ plate when he leaves it unattended. Sandwiches are his favorite. He is an excellent listener and overall great dog. Most people are TERRIFIED of him because of his size and overly aggressive bark. He is all bark but a serious coward. His favorite past times include jumping 6 foot fences to play with the neighbor’s chickens, barking loudly when people run in the house, and freaking out when someone brings out any sort of cleaning device (broom, vacuum, etc)
Meet Tinkerbelle and Hunter
Fur babies of Sheri and Auryana
Tinkerbelle– AKA- Tink Tink, Stinky, Stinkerbell, and boing boing
Tinkerbelle is a rescue chihuahua. She came to our home at the age of 1.5 yrs and has been the best little furbaby. She is somehow a mix between a short and long hair chihuahua and has a double coat. She can literally bounce up and down like a Pogo stick, non-stop, for like an hour. She is right at 7 lbs and has a heart of gold. Like most chihuahua’s she has a big bad bark and thinks she’s the boss. Unlike most chihuahua’s however, she’s very good with children and other animals. I still make sure the kids are careful with her though since her tiny size is likely to cause her intimidation that could lead to her biting someone. Tink is a good girl and likes to keep the others in line…or so she thinks. She also has a foot fetish. She would prefer to lay near your feet and have you pet her using your feet at all times.
Hunter– AKA- Huntybear
Hunter is a tiny tank. He looks small but weighs a hefty 16 lbs. Hunter is also a rescue and we got him at the age of 7 months. What a strange little guy he is. For his first 6-months with us, he had to wear baby diapers. He just couldn’t contain his excitement when he got human interaction, or attention from Tink. In fact, you could just look at him and he would pee himself. We heard his first bark (very raspy) when he was nearly 1 yr old. He tends to whine with the most obnoxious high pitched squeal you’ve ever heard; kind of makes you want to stab yourself in the ears. We call him our Down Syndrome baby. This is not at all intended to be in anyway rude to the Downs community, in fact, we like to acknowledge that animals can have many similarities to humans who possess special talents or have special needs. Hunter is just the sweetest dog ever, always happy and he’s never bit anyone or even snapped. He will lay down and roll to his back in a submissive state at the instant of any threat. He’s usually out of place and confused on his role in life. His preferred spot is right next to his human’s (anyone really, he’s not picky). He’s great at welcoming newcomers too, he will love ANYONE who gives him attention. He also loves cats.
Now, we have mentioned it before….our dogs are eerily similar. Tink is like a miniature version (with just as much SASS) of Riley. Hunter is a “Mini Cooper” hahaha. –>See what I did there? 🙂
Of course when we try to get pictures of them together they won’t cooperate. We will have to work on this. But for now, here are some pictures of them next to each other so you can see some similarities.
Cooper and Hunter are both HUGE babies. They love to snuggle under blankets and they absolutely LOVE their little people. Cooper must be with his humans at all times and Hunter hides behind his peeps when he gets afraid. Both of them are complete cowards but the sweetest little (or large) beasts around once you get to know them.
Look at those big ol’ babies!
Both sets of pooches are best friends. Riley and Cooper are inseparable as are Tink and Hunter.
Can you imagine the wild and fun time we are going to have when we all live together!?
Currently all four dogs are living with Michala and Evan because they got along after the first introduction. No sense in drawing out the inevitable…. 🙂
They can’t wait to move in and have their HUGE yard to frolic and play!
